SUPER RUNDOWN OF UPCOMING EVUGHNTS.
Swampcon Rising in Gainsville, FL- January 18-19th *Cosplay Judging*
Katsucon in National Harbor, MD - Do I really want to date this just to remind myself the time crunch?
I like how I made "super rundown" sound like there were going to be a lot. Hahaha..
Obviously for Katsu I'm just attending. My God I'm STOKED for that con. I really want to meet Kamui! I remember my sister, Meyli, use to talk about her years ago before we really got into costuming. Her craftsmanship is just so beautiful and inspirational - I'm saying this and I've yet to touch worbla ( ;´Д`). "Soon", I tell myself.
This will be my first time at Swampcon, it's a bit of a drive from Orlando, just a bit. Also my second time judging anything too! My first time judging was actually recently at Holiday Matsuri's Dance Cover Contest. I think what I've enjoyed and looked forward to as a judge is seeing all the creative work done by others. You can always learn something new when hearing how one goes about his/her costume. Cosplay contest's are always a great time to seek inspirations for your next piece.
While I'm on the topic of work, here's some shots of my Aisha wig progress.

Now a bit of explanations on the wig, this is just some silly ol' synthetic white wig on.. I think amazon. It comes with a pony tail extension which explains why the wefts are flexible to push up or down. All I did was just lightly tease the ever living shit out of it without backcombing it into some synthetic dread hahaha. In the first few panels is of me teasing the first few layers and leaving it up as I heated it with a blow dryer ( please for the love of cosplay don't have it on high if you do this, you'll burn the crap out of it if it's not heat resistant ). All this was for is just to give it more volume, it did initially look like this
Alright so I lied, that's when I started teasing the bangs. For the "high lifted" bangs effect for this cosplay and my Revy I highly recommend checking out Arda Wig's youtube tutorial: SUPER gravity defying bangs, if you haven't ever checked out some of their stuff it's pretty great!
I think for this week what I'll be wearing for Swampcon is my Radical Revy-chan from the Black Lagoon Omake ep 2
